News, August 26, 2009

Glasgow University Student Television is the UK’s first student TV station. For over forty-five years, GUST has produced brand new programming every week, which can be viewed online, on your iPod, and at various locations around campus. With its studio facilities, fully equipped editing suites and a plethora of filming equipment, the output of this station is high-quality and professional, and this has been recognised with awards in various categories from the National Student Television Association and others.

GUST offers students many different avenues to explore, such as presenting, writing, directing, acting, effects & design and more. Former GUST members include broadcaster Andrew Neil and Doctor Who writer Steven Moffat, and more recent graduates have worked on programmes as varied as Sky News Today, Secret Diary of a Call Girl and Fifth Gear.

We’ll be on hand at the SRC Freshers’ Fair, and we have two special events during Freshers Week – see ‘GUST Events – September 2009′ for details. Whether you plan to work in television or just want to join one of the friendliest groups on campus, come along and get involved!
