What is GUST?

GUST is your television station for the University of Glasgow. We are run by students just like you, eager to learn about the making of films and television programmes, and keen to produce high quality programming. For an idea of what we are all about, check out our Programmes page — However, most of our greatest content comes from ideas outside of the regular programming.

Freshers’ Week Events

Come along to these events to chat to us, find out what we do, or watch some GUST content from the past years. You should also totally like the GUST Facebook page and follow @gusttv on Twitter to be the first to hear about our new productions.

Freshers’ Address

Live and online (Monday, 12-1).

If you’re in the audience of this special welcome to Glasgow University, watch out for the GUSTies behind the stage running the big screen. If you can’t make it or want to make your friends jealous, we are providing a live video stream.

The Freshers’ Fair

The Bute Hall (Tuesday and Wednesday, 10-5).

We will have a GUST stand at the Freshers’ Fair, with some lovely GUSTies who will be happy to talk to you about what we do and why you should get involved.

GUST Screening

The Andrew Stewart Cinema (Wednesday, 1-2).

Introduction to Student Media

The Williams Room, John McIntyre Building (Thursday, 3-4).

Get Involved

Everyone is welcome to come along to our weekly meetings on Mondays and Wednesdays at 5pm, starting on the 23rd September! You can find out more about what we do, how to find our meetings, and why you should get involved on our Get Involved page.

For our first Studio session, we have prepared a special tour of our studio and will take you on a bodge short-film-making workshop so you can get to know everyone and have some fun making a film in under an hour! The “bodges” will be screened at Wednesday’s meeting, so make sure you come along to that too!

Glasgow Showcase

Also during the week after Freshers’, we’re putting on a night of Music, Dance, Theatre performance and an exceptional after party, the Glasgow Showcase. It’s on Thursday at the QM, and tickets are just £3 in advance / £4 on the door. Buy yours at any of our Freshers’ Week events, or just come along on the day, and bring all your new friends! The amazing line-up has been revealed on our Facebook Page, so check out the Glasgow Showcase Facebook Event to see all the great acts we’ve confirmed for you!
