The month formerly known as November

News, November 5, 2012

We’re doing Movember. Are you?

MOVEMBER – formerly known as “November” where we see some of the finest moustaches and facial hair sprouting from faces all across the world to raise money and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and testicular cancer.

Be a true “Mo Bro” (or “Mo Sista”), grow some fine facial hair and get involed!

You can sponsor a fellow “Mo”, donate to the cause and sign up at the University of Glasgow’s Network page:

Next week is Media Week at the University of Glasgow!

The SRC have organised a week full of inspirational talks, workshops, even film screenings and Q&A sessions with a very wide range of media professionals:
Media Week Schedule 2012.

As part of this week, we will open up the GUST studio to visitors on Monday, 15. January 2012, from 5pm. Join us for a guerilla filmmaking workshop (Bodges!) and a look behind the scenes of our Studio. Have a chat with us, participate in the recording of a complete studio programme, and meet lots of like-minded people. Maybe you will decide that you want to get involved further — just talk to us on Monday and come along to our regular Monday and Wednesday meetings.

Here’s how to find us: Make / Locations.
You can come directly to the studio or meet us at the office in the John McIntyre Building, opposite from the Williams Room.

More information is available on the Facebook event: Studio Tour & Bodge Competition – GUST [Media Week 2012]

GUST & CUT Fundraiser Ceilidh!

Events, November 15, 2011

Come to our Ceilidh!

Come to our Ceilidh!

It’s that time of year again when GUST and CUT! get cosy and host an open evening of ceilidh dancing and chat.

Due to last years success, we thought it would be fab to do it all over again.
So, we cordially invite everyone to come along on Tuesday the 22nd of November to get merry and pull some shapes.

The event is a fundraiser for us camera kids to get ourselves a shiny new camera for our future projects.

So cancel anything that is in your diary and mark this event in PEN. It promises to be a good one.

We look forward to stripping your willow…

A long night of live music in one of the most iconic venues in the world — what better opportunity to get out our cameras, vision mixers, cables and bodges. And it’s all in aid of a charity — SAVI, an Initiative for Victims of Sexual Abuse — as well. GUST will be there to work with the sound crew from SAE Institute to provide a quality recording of the event.

Tickets to the event are still on sale!

Tickets to the live event are £10 (Tickets Scotland). All the artists and technical crew are donating their time, so all the profit will go to the charity.
